01Who we are
Goose ("Goose," "we," "us," or "our") is a dating advisor product built by Better Half, Inc., a Delaware corporation headquartered in Austin, Texas. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you visit our website, sign up for early access, pre-order a squadron membership, or use the Goose product when it becomes available.
If anything here is unclear, email privacy@goose.app and a human will answer.
02Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Email address. When you join the waitlist or reserve a squadron slot, we collect your email so we can send you launch updates and your payment link when Alpha opens.
- Payment information. When you pre-order a squadron tier, payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not store your full card number on our servers — Stripe handles that, and we receive only a tokenized reference, your billing email, and the last four digits of your card.
- Communications with us. If you email us, reply to a launch update, or contact support, we keep that correspondence so we can follow up and improve the product.
Information collected automatically
- Device and browser data. When you visit the site, we automatically receive your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, and pages viewed. Standard web stuff.
- Analytics events. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand which pages convert, which ads work, and where the funnel breaks. See Section 5 for the specific tools.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 5.
Information you'll provide later (when the product launches)
- Screenshots and message content that you choose to share with Goose for analysis. These are processed to generate advice and are not used to train shared models without your explicit, separate consent.
- Profile content (your photos, bio, prompts) that you share for the profile-audit feature.
- Account preferences like your tone, your "voice on a good day," and feedback on what worked.
03How we use information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website and (when launched) the product
- To process pre-orders and payments via Stripe
- To send you launch updates, founder squadron emails, payment links, and product announcements
- To respond to your questions and provide support
- To measure ad performance so we can stop spending on ads that don't work
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not pass it to data brokers.
04Who we share information with
We share information only with the service providers we need to run Goose, and only with what they need to do their job.
- Stripe, Inc. — processes your pre-order payments. stripe.com/privacy
- Vercel / our hosting provider — serves this website and stores logs
- An email service provider (such as ConvertKit, Beehiiv, or Postmark) — sends you launch updates and transactional emails
- Analytics and ads providers — Meta (Facebook Pixel), Google (Analytics 4 and Ads), and potentially PostHog. These help us measure which ads and pages drive sign-ups. See Section 5.
- Anthropic and/or OpenAI — the foundation-model providers behind the Goose product. Message content you submit for analysis is sent to one of these providers for processing. We do not authorize them to train on your data, per their enterprise data terms.
We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to a valid legal request, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the safety of users or the public.
If Better Half, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to the same protections set out here.
05Cookies and tracking
We use a small number of first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, measure conversions, and run ads.
- Essential cookies. Required for site functionality and security.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 and/or PostHog. They tell us things like "how many people from this ad reached the pricing page."
- Advertising cookies. Meta Pixel and Google Ads conversion tracking. They tell us which ads led to which sign-ups so we can optimize spend.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. If you're in the EU/EEA or California, you'll see a consent banner before non-essential cookies are set.
06How long we keep your data
We keep your email and account information for as long as you have an account or pre-order with us, and for a reasonable period after that to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you ask us to delete your account, we'll do it within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records related to your purchase).
Message screenshots and content you submit to the product are retained only for as long as needed to generate your advice and improve your specific account's experience. You can delete this content at any time from inside the product.
07Your rights
If you're in the United States
Depending on your state (California, Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, and others have specific laws), you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect and how we use it
- Request a copy of your personal information
- Request that we correct inaccurate information
- Request that we delete your personal information
- Opt out of certain sharing for targeted advertising
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights
If you're in the EU/EEA, UK, or Switzerland
Under GDPR, you have the additional rights to data portability, to object to processing, to restrict processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our legal bases for processing are contract (to deliver the service), consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), and legitimate interest (for analytics and fraud prevention).
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@goose.app. We'll respond within 30 days.
08Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, restricted internal access on a need-to-know basis, and secure third-party providers (Stripe, Vercel, AWS-equivalent). No system is perfect, but we take this seriously, and we'll notify you and the appropriate authorities if a breach affects your data.
09Children
Goose is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with their information, email privacy@goose.app and we'll delete it.
10International data transfers
Goose is operated from the United States. If you're using the site from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using the site, you consent to this transfer. For users in the EU/EEA and UK, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.
11Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when we change how we handle data. If the change is material, we'll email you or post a prominent notice on the site before the change takes effect. The "effective" date at the top of this page tells you when the current version was published.
